radio and a NOAA Weather Radio with tone alert, and extra batteries for
both – better - Crank radio
Flashlight and extra batteries
Whistle to signal for help
Moist wipes
garbage bags and plastic ties for personal sanitation
Dust mask or cotton t-shirt, to help filter the air
Plastic sheeting and duct tape to shelter-in-place
Wrench or pliers to turn off utilities

Household chlorine bleach* - You can use bleach as a disinfectant (diluted nine

2 Lb Rice
2 Boxes Granola Bars
1 box Instant Oatmeal
1 can pre-sweetened beverage mix i.e. ice

2 boxes Macaroni & Cheese
1 box Raisins or dried fruits
1 jar Instant Coffee
1 box Tea
1 box Sugar
1 box Powered Milk
1 jar Creamer
1 can Applesauce
2 cans Evaporated Milk
Dehydrated food is also good if you make
sure you have enough water.
